Checks and Balences

We are currently adding additional funtionality to our API to handle online registrations. However, the rules for this use case are handled separately in our API and also require various checks and balances as to not potentially be aiding and abetting in pet theft.

Think about it. Suppose someone steals your dog and your dog’s micochip is clearly displayed on your dog’s collar- Would it be fair to you that we simply let anyone register your pet with our service without knowing they are the rightful owner? No way!

TOTAL TRANSPARENCY

Those that register a microchip with our service are required to enter a current or preferred email, MOBILE telephone number, and full physical address. Peeva will retain any and all contact details entered by WHOMEVER attempts to register a pet with our service- albeit if we approve their registration or not.

Pet owners will be required to select the brand of microchip implanted into their pet from a pulldown list. If the pet owner is unsure of the brand- they can select “other” or “unknown”.

Peeva will then contact the primary registry to independently verify the pet owner is indeed the actual pet owner. Peeva can not ensure the registry will comply nor respond to our inquiry. We will then share the submitted details of the person that attempted to register the pet with our service with the primary registry the chip belongs to and leave it up to them to provide us with the information we require to let the registration process with our service continue.

If the other registry determines the person that attempted to register the chip is not the correct owner we will request that they in good faith a. share the contact details of the person we provide to them that attempted to register the chip with the rightful owner that registered the pet with them initially or b. Provide us with the initial registrants details so we can do the same. Peeva makes no guarantees that the other microchip registry will comply with our request; However, if left open ended, Peeva will not permits the registration with our service.

If the chip is already registered with Peeva the rightful pet owner will get an instant notification by SMS and email telling them that the person with the above-saved contact information attempted to register his or her pet’s microchip ID with our service. The rightful owner can then do whatever they glean necessary to get their pet back. Peeva can not and will not be responsible by any means for any way in which this occurs.

PRIOR OWNERSHIP

If it is a prior owner that sold or gave away the pet, they can fill out a transfer of ownership form to match contact details of the new owner. If the microchip is not already in the system or registered anywhere else:

All pet’s that are chipped with a Peeva microchip are registered on site an auto-enrolled into the AAHA Lookup Tool (with the consent of each individual pet owner). Further, we are the only microchip company to openly share our data with the lookup tool directly.

CENTRAL REGISTRY

We are developing a network with a critical mass of data by making our services available to pet owners that have had their pets implanted with other brands of microchips and that that are already seen at a veterinary partner location within our quickly growing network at no cost to them or the veterinary practice.

Currently, only pets that are chipped with another brand of microchip can be registered with Peeva if they are seen at a veterinary partner location within the Peeva’s growing network. We are developing a network with critical mass of users by offering our registrations to these users at no cost to the veterinary practice or the pet owner.  All pets that are chipped with a Peeva microchip are registered on site and also auto-enrolled intot the AAHA Lookup Tool.

So this is what we are developing to ensure only rightful owners register their pets’ with Peeva Fetch.
