Don't Let Your Critter Become a Desert Legend: Prevention is Key

Sure, stories of desert wanderers surviving on grit and cholla cactus spines are legendary, but that’s not exactly the reunion you’re hoping for with your beloved pet. Here’s how to keep your furry or feathered friend safe from becoming the next desert myth:

Leash Laws and Lizard Chasers: The wide-open spaces of the High Desert are tempting for any explorer, but remember, leash laws exist for a reason. A glimpse of a roadrunner in Twentynine Palms or a curious kit fox in Yucca Valley can turn a casual stroll into a desert dash. Keep your critter on a leash, especially in unfamiliar areas.

Fortress Fence: Think of your backyard as your pet’s personal oasis. Make sure your Palm Springs or Indio fence is a coyote-proof fortress. Desert predators are masters of escape – flimsy barriers won’t deter a determined digger or nimble jumper.

Microchip Marvel: This tiny superhero under your pet’s skin is a lifesaver. Lost and found in Landers? Microchipped! Wandered into the Coachella Valley wilderness? Microchip to the rescue! A microchip scan at animal control in Joshua Tree or by a kind stranger in Cathedral City can reunite you with your lost friend in a flash. Peeva offers microchipping – a quick zap for a lifetime of peace of mind.

ID Tag Swagger: Microchips are awesome, but a collar with a current ID tag is still your pet’s desert swagger. It’s the first line of defense if your adventurous pup gets loose during a Palm Desert walk or your curious kitty escapes the Indio yard.

Microchipping for Swift Recovery

In these instances, a microchip is invaluable. Peeva’s microchips not only store essential information for identification but also, when registered with Peeva, enable us to send instant lost pet alerts to our extensive network of partners, including local shelters and pet owners.

Community Engagement

We encourage Brevard County residents to collaborate. By monitoring your area and reporting sightings on our platform, you contribute significantly to reuniting lost pets with their families.

Immediate Action Steps

If your pet is lost, post on our database with a clear description and the last known location. Also, check with local shelters and inform nearby veterinarians.

Let's Make a Difference

Our aim is to foster a supportive community network in Brevard County, streamlining the process of finding lost pets. Quick action, combined with local support and resources like Peeva's microchip registration, can significantly increase the likelihood of a joyful reunion.
