How Peeva uses artificial intelligence

Peeva answers the phone differently now.

An AI support representative named Grace answers every call. Below is what she does, how she connects to our registry, and what she is not allowed to do.

The same team you always reached. Now you can actually reach them.

AI up front. Our agents right behind it.

Why we brought AI in

Callers used to pick their way through a phone menu, then wait for a callback that came back by importance rather than in the order it arrived. Every call is important. The menu is gone.

Our agents got their day back

AI takes the routine lookups and the repeat questions, so our people spend their time on the cases that actually need a human — the reunions, the hard calls, the ones that do not fit a script.

A person is always one ask away

Ask for a human at any point and Grace connects you to the Peeva team. If nobody picks up, she takes your name and number rather than dropping you into voicemail.

Meet Grace

Grace is Peeva’s AI support representative. She answers the phone and the website chat, works out what you need, and starts on it while you are still on the line.

She checks the live registry

Grace queries Peeva’s registry over a secured, signed connection. What she tells you is the record, not a guess. If she does not know, she says so and finds someone who does.

Guardrails she cannot break

Peeva’s privacy rules live inside our systems, not inside the AI. No owner contact details are released until the finder has identified themselves and the owner has been contacted first.

AI THAT FREES UP OUR AGENTS

One call. No menu. Straight to an answer.

What actually happens when you call Peeva.

1

Grace answers

On the first ring, day or night. She asks whether you found a pet or you are calling about your own — in your own words, not by pressing a number.

2

She checks the microchip

Enter the number on your keypad. Grace checks it against Peeva’s live registry and tells you plainly whether it is registered, a Peeva chip not yet registered, or not in our database.

A Peeva agent takes it from there

Grace captures the details, logs the case, and hands it to one of our agents — or connects you to a person right then. The AI opens the door. A person walks you through it.

What makes Grace different from a typical AI chatbot

Most AI assistants are a language model in a text box. Grace is wired into Peeva’s registry, and the rules she follows are not hers to bend.

INSTANT SCAN ALERTS

The moment your pet is scanned, you know where.

When a vet, a shelter, or an animal control officer scans a Peeva microchip, you get an instant alert with the location of that scan. Not a voicemail left on a Friday afternoon. Not a letter. An alert, the second it happens, while your pet is still standing in front of someone who can help.

GUARDRAILS

Your family’s privacy is not negotiable.

A registry that gives out your address to anyone who asks is not protecting your pet. Grace is built with limits a general purpose chatbot does not have.

NO DEAD ENDS

Grace hands you to a person, not to a voicemail box.

Say the word and Grace connects you to a Peeva agent. If nobody picks up in those few seconds, she comes back on the line rather than dropping you into an answering machine. She takes your name, your number, and what you need, reads the number back to be sure she has it right, and a person calls you.

Peeva is a small team that answers to pet owners. Not a call center that answers to a queue.

The AAHA Microchip Registry Lookup Tool is a free resource that searches participating registries and identifies organizations that may maintain registration information for a microchip. The tool does not store or disclose pet-owner information. Peeva makes its registry records searchable through the AAHA tool while also providing direct, around-the-clock pet-recovery support.
