Post a Lost or Found Pet
Submit your post for approval and we will publish it on our website. Please be as informative as possible.
In the post title field, specify if the pet is lost or found.
In the post content field, include:
- Pet name
- Location last seen (e.g. Buffalo, New York 14202)
- Date last seen (MM/DD/YYYY)
- Type of pet (dog, cat)
- Breed
- Gender
- Age
- Are they microchipped?

A National Lost and Found Pet Database, Free for Everyone
Peeva is building a centralized, nationwide lost and found pet database that anyone can use. When a pet goes missing, the people who might have seen it are scattered across neighborhoods, social media groups, shelters and veterinary clinics. One shared, searchable database gives owners, finders, rescues and pet professionals a single place to look.
There is no membership, no microchip requirement and no fee. You do not need to be a Peeva customer to post, search or update a listing.

How to Use the Lost and Found Pet Database
Search first
Use the search box at the top of this page to check whether someone has already posted your pet, or the pet you found.
Post your listing
Add a clear photo, your pet's name, breed, color and where it was last seen. The more detail you include, the easier it is for someone to recognize your pet.
Get the pet scanned
If you found a pet, most veterinary clinics and animal shelters will scan it for a microchip, usually at no charge. Then look up the microchip number.
Keep your post current
Update your listing with new sightings or details, and update it again once the pet is home so others know it has been reunited.
No Microchip Number? Here's How to Find It
If your pet is lost and you don't know its microchip number, post your pet here right away, then track down the number. Your veterinarian, the shelter or rescue you adopted from, and your adoption or vet paperwork are the best places to start.

It's Never Too Late to Register a Microchip
A microchip is simply a string of digits. It can only bring your pet home if that number is linked to you, with your current contact information, in a registry that is actively searched.
It is never too late to register. Peeva has reunited lost pets with their families years after they went missing, once the owner finally registered the microchip.

Is the Peeva Lost & Found Pet Database really free?
Yes. Posting a lost or found pet, searching the database and updating a listing are all free, and they will stay free. You do not need a Peeva membership or a Peeva microchip to use it.
My pet is lost and I don't know its microchip number. What should I do?
Post your pet in the database right away, then find the microchip number. Your veterinarian, the shelter or rescue you adopted from, or your adoption and vet paperwork may list it. Our guide on how to check your pet's microchip walks through every option.
Is it too late to register my lost pet's microchip?
No. It is never too late to register a microchip with Peeva. We have reunited pets with their families years after they went missing, once the owner registered the chip.
Why doesn't a microchip bring my pet home on its own?
A microchip only stores an identification number. It can lead back to you only when that number is registered with your current contact information in a registry that is actively searched.
Can shelters and rescues add many pets at once?
